2004 Championship Meet
Feedback
Last year was the first year the Championship meet was a USA swimming (USAS) sanctioned meet. Overall everyone was very happy with how the meet ran and the fact that the meet was USAS sanctioned. There were several issues discussed. USAS registration issues were a major problem last year. Teams must check their rosters against the USA database before submitting entries to the Championship Meet.
NCAC brought up the issue of the fact that since we allow swimmers to age-up in relays, the relay results are not entered in the USAS database and as a result, do not count for Top-16 times or as qualifying times for sectionals. A motion was made by NCAC that we eliminate the rule allowing swimmers to age-up for relays at the championship meet. Seconded by FINS. Discussion. Vote. 4 in favor and 11 opposed. Motioned failed. NCAC will investigate the possibility of using OVC signed forms for relays to see if observed relay times at the Championship meet can be used in the USAS database.
GTRS brought up the issue about scoring relays at the championship meet. Currently all relays are scored. A discussion followed. A motion was made by MST to allow only the top two relays from each team to score. Seconded by the FINS. Vote: 14 approve, 1 opposed. Motion approved.
League website - Successful. By-Laws will be posted on the website before the end of the month.
